In 2023 I had the pleasure of taking Bobby Box on as a client to redesign his social media posts. Bobby is a freelance writer and editor whose work on sex and culture has been published in countless publications, including: Playboy, Elle, NewNowNext, Billboard, Daily Beast, Them., The Advocate, Women’s Health, Mel Magazine and AskMen.

The main goal when working with Bobby was to update the look of his posts so that they had a "70's Queer Zine" "Raw" but also "fun" look to them. Since Bobby's content gravitates around sex education one of the main considerations I hat I had to keep in mind was not making the designs to explicit as they could run the risk of being taken down and in turn have his account taken away
That being said the way I designed the posts to embody this aesthetic was by using a bold colour palette consisting of blue, green, pink, orange, yellow, or cream. Then to communicate that vintage feeling I used fonts that could be found during the 70s/80s such as ITC Souvenir, ITC Kabel, Cooper Black, etc. Finally, to then relay what the posts could be about without being too explicit I use either illustration/shapes to help indicate what the post could be about. Also, in the chance a shape can't be used I use photography but treat it in a halftone effect so it feels like a physical older zine.
