This editorial project was designed in George Brown College’s Editorial Design class.
To design and create a publication from start to finish which involved picking the genre of magazine, masthead design, and tone of voice based on a chosen demographic. With that being said, Fluid magazine, deriving from the idea of “fluidity” in one’s gender expression and sexuality, strived to cater to young urban adults who are interested in fashion, pop culture and current events related to LGBTQ+ topics.
Fluid’s tone was meant to speak to a more sleek, modern, and bold feeling as the reader makes their way through. To convey this I was sure to use minimal design treatments within paragraph styles, photographic layout, and colour choices.
